Your problems answered by Dr Sarah Brewer - Hair Loss Case History

Julia, a solicitor, was in her early twenties when she started noticing her hair getting thin ‘By the time I was 23, I was extremely concerned about my hair. I was diagnosed with hereditary female pattern hairloss, although there doesn’t seem to be any other hair loss on the female side of my family. My GP just said, “When you’re older, wear a wig.” And that was that. I saw a trichologist and went on a specific brand of the Pill, but nothing helped. So finding Lucinda Ellery (www.lucindaellery-hairloss.co.uk) was utterly life-transforming.’

Lucinda has developed the Intralace System (£800 to £1800) in which an ultra-fine mesh is integrated between your existing hair and scalp. Strands of hair are then added to disguise larger areas of hair loss. She also uses Medi Connections (£100-£300), which are semi-permanent, ultra-fine versions of traditional hair extensions that provide additional coverage and volume for thinning hair. ‘Hair loss attacks the very core of your femininity,’ says Julia. ‘Having a full head of hair again has made a massive difference to my life.’
